Merry Christmas

Here's wishing the 2 of you that may read this a very merry Christmas.

Enjoy the incredibly talented Josh Groban (middle-aged ladies swoon) singing my favorite Christmas Carol, "O Holy Night".

(Kinda) Daily Good Music

Today I present to you "Plug In Baby" by British band Muse. Muse are awesome. Marked by energetic performances of incredibly complex composition and orchestration, they are one of the biggest acts in the world with gigantic followings in Europe, Asia, and South America. About a year ago they started making their way into American audiences' ears. As of today, the band has been nominated for over 70 major awards in just over 10 years of existence, having won 30. A quick glance into their catalog of work will reveal engaging lyrics, compelling melodies, and an impressive level of instrumental mastery.

As for "Plug In Baby" itself, this track is highlighted by an aggressive bass-line, relentless drums, a memorable guitar riff, and Matthew Bellamy's soaring falsetto vocals.

So although a global phenomenon such as this is available, half time at the Super Bowl is gonna be played by the Black Eyed Peas...sometimes there is no justice in this world.

(Kinda) Daily Good Music

Today's musical selection for your listening pleasure (or chance to say, "Dammit, Ben, you don't know jack about music") is "All Nightmare Long" by Metallica of their most recent album Death Magnetic.

I love Metallica. One of my 3 or 4 favorite bands of ever, they are nearly unrivaled in their combination of commercial success, longevity, and musical virtuosity. So please enjoy this track and it's accompanying video.
